Yesterday, September 26, 2009. A Disaster hits Philippines unexpectedly leaving Metro Manila crippled and most houses submerged in water due to raging flood. The flood hit mostly major cities in Metro Manila which was unexpected to most people that caught everyone off guard without food, water and shelter. Some are staying on rooftops waiting for rescues and some are taking chances to swim against raging flood just to get to safer places or even saving their own relatives who are left helpless. Typhoon Ondoy has brought rain equivalent to 1 month worth of rain or 410 mm of rain. This event was last experienced 42 years ago and a nightmare to even experience it this year since alot has been going on already due to recession, deaths, etc.
For donations to help victims of the Typhoon Ondoy do check out the Local Red Cross in the Philippines on this website PHILIPPINE RED CROSS

Hi,
We’re reaching out to all the bloggers who talk about the Philippines in an urgent appeal for them to tell their readers about the disaster that transformed the country this weekend.
The torrential rains that pounded the Philippines, has resulted in more than 1.8 million people being immediately affected.
We, the UN World Food Programme, has identified at least 178 000 families in need of immediate food aid.
Please would you consider telling the readers of your blog about their situation, and encourage them to go to https://www.wfp.org/donate/ondoy to donate? Also if you’re active on social networks, it would help to tell other about it there too.
Even the smallest amounts help: $18 can feed a family for 2 weeks!
Warmest regards

A website has been set up for victims of the Philippines typhoons and resulting Philippines flood at http://www.PhilippinesTyphoon.org. We are not involved in collecting money, but list entities that do. The site exists solely to raise awareness of the plight of the victims. Nothing more.
Please visit the site to learn more about how you can help, even if you can’t or don’t want to donate financially. Tell your friends about it. Bookmark as many pages of it with as many of the bookmarking sites as possible using the tool at the bottom of each page.
Thanks to all who read this for considering this request. Also, thanks in advance to the webmaster of this site for allowing us to place a link here.
