Recently, I’ve been enjoying playing FarmVille like any other casual player: plant, harvest, get money from animals, plow, plant, harvest- you know the way to goes. And then came the notifications, lost sheep, ugly ducklings and such, those were easy to get. Once they appear on the feed, click on then and *poof* they’re yours. then Zynga decided to ramp it up with mystery eggs. That is when FarmVille turned from a dream farm into a nightmare of frustration and disappointment.
What are eggs?
Obviously, if you’ve lived long enough to get into first grade, you’d know that eggs basically come from chicken. What they didn’t teach you is that there are also black eggs and golden eggs. Well, in farmville at least. These suckers get cleaned out in as fast as 5 to 10 seconds after posts. (damn you wall campers!)
Why are they so valuable then? well, you get cool stuff from golden eggs, only problem is, there is no easy way to get them! The only way you can get then is by buying them (shell out cash for farm cash) or by opening the mystery eggs of your friends. Kinda bogs the logical mind why YOU don’t get to keep your golden eggs. That said, the only way to amass them is to help your friends who in turn would help you accumulate golden chickens. Sounds confusing? Well that’s how Zynga wanted to make you suffer.
Ah yes, the INSTRUCTIONS, bet most of you haven't read this yet.
At first it was a task that looked like you were just better off milking cows instead of wasting time to get that gold egg. But when I looked at my news feed, there was someone posting golden eggs up for grabs as much as those people asking you to fertilize their farms. Only difference is that it wasn’t annoying.
So I decided to look it up and find just how people did it. And if you are reading this, then you probably wanted to find out too. Well look no more, because here’s how they did it:

How to do it:
If you didn’t watch the video above (or if the video was removed), here are simple instructions for you to follow to start producing eggs:
1. Empty the coop (0/20 chickens)
2. Put 1 Ready to harvest chicken into the empty coop (1/20 chickens)
3. Place 10 of the desired color of chicken (11/20)
4. [optional] Remove the first chicken if it’s of a lower color (e.g. white) (10/20)
5. harvest coop
6. ????
7. PROFIT!
A couple of notes, the chances of getting mystery eggs is related to the number of chickens in the coop, I’ve used 10 in the example because it was more convenient than 20 chickens and has higher chances than just using 5. It’s really just a matter of preference and how much work you’re willing to do. Also the chickens you’ll be placing after the first doesn’t need to be 100% ready! this makes it possible to get lots of eggs in a short amount of time!
What do eggs produce?

I have heard that there is a way to make sure your friends get your golden egg when you post it before others get it. They are gone to fast that I think a lot of people know how to do this already. Something about right clicking on the picture of the gold egg on the pulish screen and posting the copied link to your friend? How does that work?

Yep…when you get the notice click the share once.
Then when it prompts you to write a message, don’t post, but right click the image and click on “copy link location.” Then IM your friend (or send Message) and do a paste (ctr v) and voila, you don’t have to “share” the egg. You can give the same egg up to 4 or 5 times.

But how do paople make and post eggs so FAST? Sometimes you can see the same person post eggs as fast as 1-2 minutes apart.

hav tried this 6 times still wont work, an dont tell me the progam is being worked on, people are posting gold eggs left an right as i wrie this, BUT MINE WONT work followed instruct to the letter, STILL NO MYSTERY EGGS

I have watched all the tutorials on how to make the golden eggs.I have tried all the methods under the sun.All have worked but all have a low turnover rate.There are times were I just throw anything in the coop and it will work.What I havent seen yet is a method that has a very high turnover rate.If anyone finds one can u please let me know.Co’s its so frustrating collecting 100’s of chickens & only getting a handful of mystery eggs.The most I have seen one of my neybas do is 20 in ova a few hours.But he has like 40 golden chickens.He says he puts 20 goldies in the coop each time.I simply dont have the time for that.Ive produced them with 5 in the coop, which is faster but not very successful.
I think that I have temperemental coops quite frankly.lol

The more chickens you use, the better the chance of getting eggs… plain and simple, don’t be an imbecile… The game CLEARLY tells you that…

I produce mystery eggs for my neighbors, so I can answer some questions
#1 - Getting them is random. Some days i’ll get 3 in a row, while other days I harvest 10 times before getting a single egg
#2 - Some “recipes” seem to work better, but only for a few days. For a while, 1 white, 6 brown, 6 black, and 7 gold was working great, then it just stopped working great.. Then 11 golds worked good… and currently i’m doing 1 white (or brown) to start and 19 golds. It’s time consuming and there is no easy way i’m aware of.
#3 - Before publishing your egg, you can right click the icon and choose to “Copy Shorcut” and message it to your friends. I do this with 3 people only… and they do it back to me. If i didn’t do this, I would never get eggs for myself. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for me to spend hours making eggs and to assure I get some eggs for myself.
#4 - I’ve gotten mystery eggs with as few as 3 golden chickens in my coop, but doing any less then 10 takes a LOT of tries before I get them… unless I get lucky on the first few of course, but to consistently make them, I find it far better to load up 15-20 (I know, nobody likes hearing this, but that’s what it takes).

Is there a limit on how many gold chickens you can have? It seems to me that I stopped getting anymore gold eggs after i recieved my 39th gold chicken.
